Setting up your L2TP/IPsec VPN under Android 4.x (Ice Cream Sandwich)

Setting up PublicVPN access under Android 4.x iis simple. The following instructions go step–by–step through the creation process.

System Requirements

Before setting up the VPN, be sure your installation is up–to–date.

Add a new VPN connection

First, open the Settings app and touch “Wireless & Networks.”

Next, touch on ”More.”

Touch “ VPN”

If you don't have a lock screen code set up, Android will ask you to do it.

Touch "Add VPN network."

For the VPN name, type " L2TP/IPsec"

For the type, click on the type and change it to "L2TP/IPsec PSK". Your screen will change to one like this:

For the Server address, type '' (without the quotes).

For the IPsec preshared key, type '' (without the quotes).

Don't enter anything for the L2TP secret or the IPsec identifier. Then touch'Save' and your connection will be in the VPN list.

Now when you need to connect to PublicVPN, touch on the VPN in settings.

The first time you try to connect Android will prompt your for your password. Enter it and optionally click 'Save account information' so you don't have to enter your password every time you connect.
